~ The Weekly Update ~
Friday of the Twenty-Second Week of Ordinary Time (OF) / Feast of St. Stephen of Hungary (EF)
Greetings GenChrist,
This Sunday, September 4th, we will have our first "warm up" Holy Hour of the fall. Fr. Dan Parrish will lead our meditation.
On September 11th, we will have the full "fall roll out" of Generation Christ to St. Thomas and newly arrived parishioners. We will be serving pancakes after the 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Masses. During breakfast, we will be running a picture show of GenChrist exploits from the last few years. If you've had any great pictures from that time, please send them to me or call my attention to them on Facebook.
In Christ,
Paul Schultz

GenChrist Notes
Pope Benedict's Prayer Intentions
Each month, Pope Benedict XVI announces his special prayer intentions--particular things that he wishes all Catholics to pray for that month. (When, for instance, we pray the rosary and say the prayers at the end for the intentions of the Holy Father, these are the intentions for which we're praying.) Pope Benedict offers two intentions every month, one general, and one for a particular Catholic missionary activity.
His general prayer intention for September 2011 is "that all teachers may know how to communicate love of the truth and instill authentic moral and spiritual values."
Pope Benedict's mission intention is "that the Christian communities of Asia may proclaim the Gospel with fervor, witnessing to its beauty with the joy of faith."
