Palm Sunday Stations of the Cross - St. Thomas Christian Family Movement
You are invited to join us as we celebrate Stations of the Cross at the Outdoor Stations at St. Joseph Shrine in Brooklyn, MI on US 12 in the Irish Hills (approximately 40 minutes from Ann Arbor). Deacon Jim will lead this annual pilgrimage which will begin in the old chapel with prayer and then follow the winding trail of the Shrine Stations down to the lake shore.
We will begin at 2:30 and conclude with prayer by 3:15. Traditionally, we have also stopped for a meal at one of the restaurants along US 12 on the way home. All are welcome. Historically, weather is variable but unless these is a serious storm, we will be enjoying early spring in the open air.

GenChrist Notes
Shout-out to St. Francis' Jen Delvaux
Some of you may know Jen Delvaux, a young adult who leads the youth and young adult ministries at St. Francis of Assisi parish. Some of you may also that every Palm Sunday is a 'World Youth Day' in the Diocese of Rome, when young persons gather for a Papal Mass in St. Peter's Square (this is similar to but distinct from the international gathering World Youth Days - next one in Madrid, 2011 - that are held every third year). Jen is currently in Rome for an international young adult ministry conference and will be reading the first reading at this Sunday's Palm Sunday Mass! (which might be viewed live on EWTN sometime after midnight, Sunday morning.)
On a related but somewhat tardy note, last November, Jacob Rhein (Diocese of Lansing Seminarian and 2009 summer custodian @ St. Thomas the Apostle) served at the Papal First Vespers to kick-off Advent and the current liturgical year: Pictures

Church News / Analysis
Many in the mainstream media have sought to attack Pope Benedict concerning certain abuse that occurred in the Archdiocese of Munich, principally after his time as Archbishop of that See. If you've found yourself in discussions of this topic, then this even-handed article by John Allen is recommended as a good comparison of the response to abuse in the current pontificate to the response to abuse of the previous pontificate, etc.: Will Ratzinger's past trump Benedict's present?
On a similar note, Phil Lawler had an excellent piece yesterday, analyzing the information and analysis that Laurie Goodstein elected to omit from her Tuesday story about an abuser from Wisconsin.
St. John the Baptism Pilgrimage
Join Fr. Bob on Wednesday, April 28th for a Day Pilgrimage to the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Consolation in Carey, Ohio. The Basilica and National Shrine has been a place of pilgrimage for countless Catholics since 1875. Our day of prayer will begin promptly at 8:45 am, and will include opportunities for:
• Mass at the Basilica,
• Stations of the Cross at Shrine Park,
• Recitation of the Rosary, and
• Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
In addition, pilgrims will have opportunities to tour the grounds, visit the gift shop, and have religious items blessed. The cost is $28.00 per person, and includes lunch in the cafeteria and transportation to and from the Basilica and National Shrine.
Please contact Margaret Tsilis at 572-1880 with any questions, or to reserve a place.
On a similar note, St. Michael parish, Livonia, is organizing a "Young Adult Pilgrimage" to the same shrine on Saturday, May 15th. Get more info on Facebook.
