Represent GenChrist next Sunday, October 24th, at the Robert J. Delonis Center to help cook, serve and clean up following the Sunday meal. Four hours in the kitchen helps to serve over 200 hungry adults and children. GenChrist serves there each month from noon-4:30pm, and you can join us for a single shift (12-2:30 to cook or 2:30-4:30 to serve and clean up) or for the entire afternoon. Please let me know if you are interested. Thank you! ~Mark Meinhart

GenChrist Notes
Synod of Bishops on the Middle East
Please pray for group of 180+ bishops who are meeting with Pope Benedict in Rome this month to chart the Church's course in the Middle East.
Among the various coverage of the Synod, I recommend in particular this article which both explores the position of Arabic-speaking Christians in the region and reports Melkite Archbishop Elias Chacour's statement on the priorities of Latin Rite pilgrims in the middle east.
Archbishop Chacour is the great-uncle of one of the leaders of the School of Community here at St. Thomas. In 2009, Archbishop Chacour visited St. Thomas to perform a baptism.

Testing the Waters
The time of year is nearly upon us when we celebrate all the holy saints in heaven and remember all the holy souls in purgatory. Because SCH cannot host the All Saints party this year (pictures of last year's costumes, if you have access on fb), we're going to consider some alternatives at next Tuesday's core team meeting.
Please let us know if:
a) You would like to host an All Saints' costume party somewhere near campus with the assistance of some GC funding.
b) You would attend an All Hallows' Eve^2 bonfire - vis. gather with GenChristers at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, October 30th and, immediately afterward, either 1) catch rides together to a large bonfire at the KofC picnic groups or 2) walk across the street to a smaller bonfire at FMH.
c) You have some third proposal.
